Dave Britton, President
Founder Dave Britton has dedicated his career to building companies, developing innovative products in high technology start-ups, consulting, and growing non-profit organizations. His forty-year career in building technology organizations has given him the expertise to help make the world a better place by organizing startups and mentoring entrepreneurs.
Dave was CEO founder of four hi-tech companies, two becoming public. He was 2006/7 Chair of the Small Business Administration’s ‘SCORE’ Santa Cruz organization and is now mentors for UCSC & Clean Tech Silicon Valley. He also organizes the Santa Cruz New Tech MeetUp.
Jim Abendschan, CFO
Jim Abendschan joined MakersFactory in January 2012. He brings 40 years of general management and technical marketing to our start-up. His focus is on expanding MakersFactory’s 3D printing technology to architectural and industrial community. His technical background is in electro-optical devices, electronic displays and powder metal technologies. Before retiring in 2009, he was president & CEO of a local electronic-materials technology company.
Krissie Olson, Educator and Public Relations
Krissie Olson comes to MFY with a background in education, design and marketing for tech companies. Formerly working as a credentialed teacher in local classrooms and computer labs, she currently leads kidscamps, home school courses and adult classes at MakersFactory. Shew as a graphic and interior designer for the recently renovated Sentinel building working for Cruzio Internet and now coordinates marketing efforts and performs outreach at MFY. She applies the full variety and breadth of her work experience at the MakersFactory and is building a community of inventive, bright, and creative individuals that will lead us straight into the future.
Chris Yonge, Designer
Designer Chris Yonge originally qualified as an architect, then worked for ten years as a professional furniture maker in the UK. On moving to the US he retrained and then worked for a further ten years as an industrial designer. Now specializing in the use of 3D computer graphics, Chris has run Studio Cruz since 2001, creating 3D animations, interactive media, and digital models for a wide range of clients including Google, Microsoft, and the US Navy. He teaches 3D computer modeling and animation part time in the Baskin School of Engineering at UCSC.
Lindsey Serio, Office Manager
Lindsey Serio has joined MakersFactory to coordinate events, production, camps and classes. Lindsey, originally from Belmont, CA., holds a BA degree in Art from UCSC. She previously worked at Shakespeare Santa Cruz as a development assistant for two years. Her extracirricular activities include oil painting and yoga.
Dr. Juergen Kienhoefer
Dr. Juergen Kienhoefer is the CEO of Wireless Cables, Inc. Wireless Cables, Inc, founded in 2003 by Dr. Kienhoefer, designs and sells long-range Bluetooth™ based micro-controllers under the brand name AIRcable™ for the wireless sensor market. Dr. Kienhoefer came from Germany 13 years ago to take part in the exploding technology sector of America in Silicon Valley. Dr. Kienhoefer has two decade of experience in the technology industry consisting of 12 years in Silicon Valley as a technical director for various companies and 4 years of management in the German technology industry. He earned his Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany. Appropriately, it was at this University that Heinrich Hertz first demonstrated electromagnetic radiation in 1888. He as developed a scanning device that scans in 3D for Makersfactory’s use.
