GBL Cube is MakersFactory’s Game-Based Learning Solution
The MakersFactory GBL Cube is a game server built to deliver content-rich, hands-on Game Based Learning (GBL) education tools to teachers wanting to use games in the classroom at a low cost. The portable, pre-configured server is MinecraftEdu-ready and supports up to 35 students in a variety of network environments with minimal to no impact on existing network infrastructure. Game play is possible through existing Ethernet LAN, existing Wi-Fi LAN or the server can broadcast its own LAN for classrooms with no network access.
The GBL Cube has the built in capabilities necessary to deliver a game to a classroom and use lessons in a wide range of subjects that meet targeted Common Core standards, as well as training for teachers to use the game server and create their own lessons.
The GBL Cube can generate its own Wifi network, so you’re ready to connect as soon as the Cube is powered on. You don’t even need a connection to the Internet! You also have the option to connect the Cube to an existing Wifi or wired Ethernet network.
Proven to Support 35 Users
Take the guesswork out of shopping for your school’s computer hardware. The Cube has been tested specifically for MinecraftEdu, and proven to support up to 35 simultaneous players.
Weighing in at less than two pounds, taking up a footprint about the size of a CD, and needing only the power cable to operate, the GBL Cube can easily be shared between multiple classrooms and computer labs at a school site.
Control Panel for Teacher Laptop
No extra monitor, mouse, and keyboard for the Cube? No problem! Teachers can access the Cube from their own computers using a remote desktop program built into the Cube. Launch lessons and manage game world settings without having to hop between multiple screens.
Secure from Outside Troublemakers
Since the Cube can operate without any connection to the Internet, it can be kept completely isolated and secure. As for troublemakers within the class, all administrative features of the Cube are password protected for the teachers.
Loaded with Lessons
The Cube is ready to run with a wide range of sample lesson worlds. It also comes pre-loaded with a variety of “mods”, extending the MinecraftEdu game features and allowing for deeper, more engaging lessons.
Learn how best to run MinecraftEdu lessons in your own classroom, how to customize lesson worlds, how to fine-tune your Cube’s game settings, and more. All the tips and tricks you need to take full advantage of Minecraft’s educational power.
