MakersFactory Ribbon Cutting! February 1, 2012, 4-6pm

January 13, 2012

We invite you to join us when we cut our ribbon!

Chris Yonge and Dave Britton, co-founders of MakersFactory, invite the public to join us as we celebrate a Ribbon Cutting on Wednesday, February 1, 4 to 6 pm (with ceremony at 5 pm). Light refreshments will be served. No reservations are necessary; just show up.

Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cuttings are a great way to connect with other Santa Cruzans and support local organizations getting a start or new beginning right here in Santa Cruz County.

MakersFactory is a new educational maker space at 877 Cedar Street in downtown Santa Cruz, CA. At MakersFactory students of all ages will learn and use exciting new technology for 3D printing, modeling, animation, and robotics. MakersFactory students and members will be able to design, prototype, and manufacture a wide variety of items, from simple 3D objects to complex mechanical/electronic products. Three-month, 1-year founding, and 2-year founding memberships are available.

Classes, events, equipment

MakersFactory’s equipment has been carefully selected to provide the maximum of creative freedom with the minimum of technical knowledge. We offer a wide range of classes, and weekly and monthly events. Come learn how you can create your own custom business prototypes, hobby crafts, products, decals, signage, and more. We recommend that newcomers start with our Principles of 3D Printing class where students will learn how to design for the main commercial and open source 3D technologies, and which are most suitable for their own creative, hobby, craft, and business projects.

Open Hours

Tuesday-Friday 2 pm – 6 pm, and Saturday 10 am – 4 pm
